Quantum phase transition between hyperuniform density distributions

چکیده

We study an electron distribution under a quasiperiodic potential in light of hyperuniformity, aiming to establish classification and analysis method for aperiodic but orderly density distributions realized in, e.g., quasicrystals. Using the Aubry-Andr\'e-Harper model, we first reveal that electron-charge changes its character as increased alters eigenstates from extended localized ones. While these charge are characterized by neither multifractality nor translational-symmetry breaking, they hyperuniformity class order metric. find nontrivial relationship between states at Fermi level, charge-distribution histogram, class. The change different occurs first-order phase transition except electron-hole symmetric point, where is third order. Moreover, generalize metric function, capture more detailed features distribution, some analogy with generalization fractal dimension multifractal one.

Hyperuniform disordered terahertz quantum cascade laser

Laser cavities have been realized in various different photonic systems. One of the forefront research fields regards the investigation of the physics of amplifying random optical media. The random laser is a fascinating concept because, further to the fundamental research investigating light transport into complex media, it allows us to obtain non-conventional spectral distribution and angular...

Quantum phase transition in quantum dot trimers

We investigate a system of three tunnel-coupled semiconductor quantum dots in a triangular geometry, one of which is connected to a metallic lead, in the regime where each dot is essentially singly occupied. Both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic spin2 Kondo regimes, separated by a quantum phase transition, are shown to arise on tuning the interdot tunnel couplings and should be accessible ex...

Random quantum correlations and density operator distributions

Randomly correlated ensembles of two quantum systems are investigated, including average entanglement entropies and probability distributions of Schmidt-decomposition coefficients. Maximal correlation is guaranteed in the limit as one system becomes infinite-dimensional. The reduced density operator distributions are compared with distributions induced via the Bures and Hilbert-Schmidt metrics....

Phase Transition in Quantum Gravity

A fundamental problem with attempting to quantize general relativity is its perturbative non-renormalizability. However, this fact does not rule out the possibility that non-perturbative effects can be computed, at least in some approximation. We outline a quantum field theory calculation, based on general relativity as the classical theory, which implies a phase transition in quantum gravity. ...

Pressure-driven Quantum Phase Transition

The zero-temperature quantum phase transition (QPT) is driven by quantum fluctuations, in contrast to the more familiar finite temperature transitions driven by thermal fluctuations. This paper demonstrates our work on two kinds of QPTs in two different materials, respectively. The first work focuses on the pressure-driven antiferromagnetic QPT in pure chromium which is a model system for study...
